GREATER Dandenong Council expects State Government developer Places Victoria to complete its unfinished promises after the expiration of the Metro 3175 development project.
The 2002 joint agreement expired on 22 October, with Places Victoria yet to develop VicTrack land north of Cheltenham Road, build the Allan Street bridge across Dandenong Creek and complete several landscaping works.
According to the council report, about 650 dwellings had been built as part of the project.
Last week, councillors agreed to formally terminate the agreement while the council negotiates a new agreement to complete the project.
Paul Kearsley, the council’s group manager of Greater Dandenong Business, said after recent negotiations the council were “very confident” Places Victoria would build the $298,000 Allan Street bridge by late 2015.
