Kids put their dads on the menu

By CASEY NEILL

STUDENTS have shared breakfast with more than 60 dads, uncles and brothers at Spring Parks Primary School.
The school’s two Springvale campuses held the Father’s Day event on Thursday 3 September.
“We held a similar one for our mums in May and it was a huge success,” principal Julie Fisher said.
“We were thrilled with the turnout.”
The event started at 8am to cater for dads who had to get to work, but Ms Fisher said some workplaces had allowed the breakfast-goers a late start.
“After the children had fed their fathers they were allowed to come back and get a plate of food for themselves,” she said.
Sausages, bacon, eggs, muffins, raisin bread, toast, tea, coffee and juice were on the menu.
“We had a father’s day staff yesterday at both campuses where the children could bring in some money and buy something for dad,” Ms Fisher said.
Each class also made Father’s Day craft projects.
