Free parking dished out

FREE parking is being served up to diners flocking to Dandenong’s Thomas Street on Sundays.
Dandenong resident Phillip Lamaro at the Monday 26 October Greater Dandenong Council meeting said the growing popularity of restaurants had caused the precinct to become a “nightmare for parking”.
He asked the council to open its multi-level Thomas Street car park free of charge on Sundays to help.
City planning, design and amenity director Jody Bosman said the car park was open Monday to Saturday until 9pm.
He said he was happy to trial opening the facility from 9am to 10pm on Sundays, and would assess the move after six months.
