YOUNG readers can win prizes for losing themselves in a book this summer.
City of Greater Dandenong’s Summer Reading Club has a Lost Worlds theme and runs from 1 December to 20 January.
Parents or carers of pre-schoolers need to log five books to be in the running for a children’s tablet.
Primary school students need to read 10 books for the chance to win an iPad mini or a visit from children’s author Adam Wallace.
They’ll receive stickers, bookmarks, tattoos and key rings along the way as encouragement.
Teens who read five books will be eligible to win an iPad mini.
They can also check out Bookface to compete in other competitions, including creating a photo using the cover of their favourite book.
The Summer Reading Club prize presentation will take place on Sunday 24 January at 2pm at Springvale Library.
Visit the Springvale or Dandenong libraries or www.greaterdandenong.com/src to register.
