Probe on sexual assault in park

A WOMAN has been sexually assaulted in a Dandenong park.
Dandenong Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) detectives are appealing for information on the Thursday 7 April attack.
The victim was near play equipment along the Dandenong Creek Trail about 9.30pm when about eight men approached.
One of the men spoke to her and drew her away into a grassed area about 200 metres from the play equipment.
There he sexually assaulted her.
The young woman fled the scene and raised the alarm at Dandenong police station.
The attacker is described as Middle Eastern in appearance, 18 to 20 years old and about 170 centimetres tall with a medium build and slight facial hair.
His hair was shaved on the sides and long on top, and the victim believes he was referred to as Shane.
