Cannabis crop up in smoke

A fire unearthed hundreds of cannabis plants inside a Springvale factory.
Police posted a crime-scene guard outside the Rosalie Street address following the blaze, which was reported by passers-by who saw smoke about 11.30pm on Sunday 18 February.
CFA crews forced entry into the factory and found an extensive hydroponic set-up growing hundreds of semi-mature cannabis plants.
No one was at the factory at the time of the fire.
It’s thought an electrical fault is to blame.
