Fire destroys vacant house

A vacant house in Dandenong went up in flames just days before it was due to be demolished.
Fire crews attended the Wilma Avenue property about 12.40pm on Wednesday 21 February but were unable to save the house.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Senior Constable Tony Lavars said the premises had been unoccupied for several months, no power or gas was connected and it was scheduled for demolition that week.
He said police were treating the fire as suspicious and urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
