Abandoned house ablaze

An abandoned house has been suspiciously set alight on the corner of Hutton and Pickett streets, Dandenong.

Fire and police crews were called to the blaze about 2.35pm on Friday 10 May.

A mattress in a rear bedroom was the point of ignition, police say.

The fire was contained to the bedroom.

The empty building was scheduled for demolition.
