Dandenong: Man breaks ankle in alleged road rage assault

By Cameron Lucadou-Wells

A MAN was punched to the head several times and broke his ankle during an alleged road-rage assault in Dandenong on Friday night.

Dandenong crime investigation unit detectives say the man, 31, of Hastings and driving a blue Ford sedan on Lonsdale Street, had a verbal exchange with drivers of two other vehicles.

The three cars drove until stopping shortly after the intersection of Frankston-Dandenong Road and Lonsdale Street.

Occupants got out of their cars and the man was punched in the head, which caused him to fall and break his ankle, police say.

The man was treated at Dandenong Hospital.

Police want to speak to a female driver of a dark-coloured sedan and two men in a silver hatchback who were seen in the area at the time.
