Batten-ing down for wind turbine

Wind is in the sails of Richard Batten, pictured second left, with Jordan Grigg, Alex Godfrey and Justine Handley. Mr Batten, property general manager for developer Fantastic Holdings, says wind is about to be plundered by a 14-metre triple-turbine tower above the Home Quarter retail site on the corner of Dandenong Bypass and Frankston-Dandenong Road. Its carbon fibre vertical-axis turbines — which Mr Batten says are barely audible — are set to whirl into action within days, offsetting the centre’s car park lighting.
