Teen in hospital after serious assault

A man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries on Friday night after an assault in Springvale South in which a group of males assaulted three men with weapons including iron bars. The men were walking in Burden Park about 7.40pm when they were approached by a group in a dark vehicle. The three ran south along Olympic Avenue to Richard Street, where they were attacked on the footpath. A 19-year-old man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, an 18-year-old Glen Waverley man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and a 19-year-old Melbourne man was treated for minor injuries.
