Springvale man faces court on drug trafficking charges

By CAMERON LUCADOU-WELLS

A MAN has been charged with trafficking about $40,000 worth of methamphetamines after police raided two neighbouring units in Springvale last Thursday.

Greater Dandenong tasking unit members say they seized 26 grams of methamphetamines as well as four ecstacy pills and $300 worth of cannabis from the Erica Street units.

Another 35 grams of methamphetamines was found in a vehicle at the units.

Police also discovered $27,400 cash, as well as laptops, jewellery and cameras.

Dien Cong Nguyen, 43, of Erica Street, Springvale appeared in Dandenong Magistrates Court on Friday charged with trafficking methamphetamines and possession of ecstacy, cannabis and the proceeds of crime.

He has been remanded in custody to reappear in court on Thursday.

Acting Detective Sergeant Luke Kirton, of Greater Dandenong CIU, said another man would be charged on summons with possession of methamphetamines and a female placed on a drugs diversion program.

Tasking unit members also intended to charge a fourth person on summons.
