Mustang charges

A CRANBOURNE woman will face court over the theft of a Mustang from Narre Warren North.
Casey CIU detectives this morning (Tuesday) arrested the 20-year-old and charged her with one count of theft.
They allege she stole the distinctive car, worth more than $70,000, from a house in Jacques Road sometime between Friday 2 May and Monday 5 May.
Police recovered the Mustang at a Dandenong address on Friday 8 May.
Retiree John Archibald was “over the moon” to be reunited with his car, which was returned to him with a cracked windscreen and panel damage.
“Since I could walk I’ve always wanted to have a Mustang,” he said.
“I can imagine why someone else wanted to get their backside in it and have a flutter.”
The woman was bailed to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 24 September. The investigation continues.
