MORE than 4000 sausages and veggie burgers hit the barbecue at the Dandenong civic square on Saturday.
Mayor Jim Memeti hosted an afternoon of free family fun on 18 October instead of holding the annual mayoral ball fundraising event.
Aside from snags, the Mayor’s Free Family Fun Day featured dancers and drummers, face painting, a native animal display, tree planting workshops and more.
To conclude the event, families snacked on popcorn and watched Despicable Me 2 on the big screen.
