Shootouts begin… Valentine’s Day

DANDENONG and Casey area soccer is about to kick off for 2015 with the inaugural matches scheduled for tilts at the FFA Cup.
Drawing the lots for the first time this year, the Football Federation Victoria (FFV) allocated the inaugural rounds of the FFA Cup Preliminary Rounds – formerly knock as the Dockerty Cup.
The single-elimination tournament pits the best sides in Victoria off to find the best four in the state to head on to the FFA Cup Round of 32.
2014 FFA Cup Round of 16 finishers South Springvale will debut in the later rounds as will Greater Dandenong’s three NPL/NPL1 sides Dandenong Thunder, Dandenong City and Springvale White Eagles.
The first local team to start their FFA Cup campaign is Parkmore SC, with the Greater Dandenong based side set to play a qualifying round match against Sporting Carlton for a shot at the first round on Valentine’s Day – Saturday 14 February.
From there the remaining State League 4 and State League 5 teams from the south east will debut as they try to progress through to the later rounds of the cup.

Round 1 – 21 February
Sandown Lions v Lyndale United. Dandenong Wolves v Bundoora United FC. Healesville SC / Keon Park v Springvale City. Harrisfield Hurricanes v Collingwood City. Casey Panthers v Noble Park SC. Sporting Carlton / Parkmore SC v Meadow Park Eagles. Hampton Park United v Bell Park SC. Chelsea FC v Dandenong South. Keysborough SC v Fawkner SC. Endeavour United SC v Maribyrnong Greens. White Star Dandenong v Upfield SC.
