A Battle on their hands

TAC CUP – Round 4

THE only Battle the Dandenong Stingrays needed to face on Saturday night was star forward Josh Battle, who relished the conditions in a 49-point TAC Cup demolition of Bendigo Pioneers.
Battle (five goals) had the ball on a string as he beguiled the Pioneers from the forward end – showing a sign of things to come for the 190cm tall from Doveton.
Taking back-to-back wins, Dandenong walked all over Bendigo in the Country Round twilight fixture, as Darcy Warke (four goals) and Liam Myatt (two goals) also got in on the action.
A five-goal opening term was the start of things to come for Dandenong as it continued to push away throughout the match.
Not content with a mere victory, the Stingrays put on another four goals in the final term to ram home the success and bring it back down the Calder Freeway.
Brandon White, Kurt Mutimer and Bailey Rice featured prominent in the best.
Shooting up to fifth on the TAC Cup ladder, Dandenong has this weekend off before flying to Queensland to face the northern state on ANZAC Day.
