A PEDESTRIAN was hit and killed by a car in Dandenong on Friday night.
The 64-year-old woman was trying to cross Birdwood Avenue near the intersection of Wilma Avenue about 6.40pm when she was hit by the car.
The woman, from Dandenong, was rushed to The Alfred hospital with critical injuries but died a short time later.
The driver, a 62-year-old man, was not injured in the incident and stopped to assist emergency crews.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
