A DANDENONG man who robbed a Springvale liquor store returned to the same bottle-o just hours later where police were ready to pounce.
Police said the 20-year-old entered the BWS at the Waltzing Matilda Hotel on Heatherton Road about 8.45pm on Sunday 12 July where he grabbed an employee by the shirt collar and demanded money.
The offender then stole cash from the till and a safe, while also taking two bottle of vodka and a bottle of Hennessy whiskey before fleeing.
Hours later, about 11pm, the offender returned to the same liquor store where employees recognised him and called police who soon arrived to arrest the man.
The arrest led to detectives executing a search warrant at a Springvale South property the next day and seizing stolen goods and clothing.
The man has been remanded in custody and will appear at the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court later this month.
