POLICE are appealing for help to find a mobile phone thief who struck in Dandenong.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Sergeant Luke Kirton said a 31-year-old Dandenong woman was talking on her mobile while walking along Hutton Street near Robinson Street about 7.10pm on Saturday 24 October.
A man approached her from behind, grabbed her phone and ran to a waiting vehicle in Robinson Street.
Det Sgt Kirton said the victim tried to open the door of the moving vehicle and was dragged a short distance, suffering minor lacerations to her left knee and wrist.
The metallic red Toyota Corolla hatch, about a 2010 model, was last seen travelling north on Robinson Street with two men on board.
The victim described the thief as 170 centimetres tall and Pacific Islander in appearance with a large build and shaved back of his head. He was wearing a red flannel shirt, jeans and runners.
