Futile home invasion bid

By Casey Neill

A man looking for ‘Mika’ tried to force his way into a home in Dandenong.
He knocked on the Bruce Street property’s garage door about 7pm on Sunday 4 September.
A 26-year-old man was home and opened the front door to see what was going on, leaving a security door closed and locked.
The man who’d been knocking approached the door and asked if Mika was there.
When the victim said he didn’t know anyone by that name, the man tried to use a screwdriver to force his way through the door.
This was unsuccessful, so he picked up a brick from the garden, threw it through a front window and left.
He’s described as Caucasian, aged in his late twenties and 170 centimetres tall with brown hair. He was wearing a pink T-shirt and blue shorts and left in a blue vehicle.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detectives urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
