Westall Road comment sought

Drivers can put in their two cents about the proposed Westall Road extension.
VicRoads is asking for feedback on linking the road to the Monash Freeway from the Princes Highway in Westall.
VicRoads integration services director Andrew Wall said a business case was being developed to improve traffic movement from the Princes Highway to the Monash Freeway, and freight access to commercial areas in Moorabbin, Braeside and Dandenong South.
“The proposed extension is expected to divert traffic and freight vehicles from the heavily trafficked Blackburn, Springvale and Clayton roads,” he said.
“It will help link the national and innovation employment clusters in Monash and Dandenong and improve access to strategic transport routes in the South East for commuters and freight.
“The community’s views will help shape the business case to support future funding and construction of the extension.”
The business case will also examine access to local residential areas, the design of access points, speed limits, and other opportunities for traffic and safety improvements.
Visit engage.vicroads.vic.gov.au/westall-road-extension or attend a drop-in information session to get involved.
Drop-in sessions will be held from 3pm to 6.30pm on Thursday 29 June at the Notting Hill Neighbourhood House, 37 Westerfield Drive, Notting Hill, and Thursday 20 July at the Monash Community Inn, 72 Clayton Road, Clayton.
