Project on track

WORK on the controversial Dingley Arterial project is scheduled to start in late 2010, according to VicRoads project director Frank De Santis.
Despite strong opposition from Keysborough residents and the City of Greater Dandenong, Mr De Santis said the arterial road was crucial to relieve congestion on the surrounding road network.
He said the project would have minimal impact on the Coomoora Reserve.
“We are working hard to ensure the alignment will be located as close as possible to the southern road reserve boundary to minimise impact on existing vegetation,” Mr De Santis said.
“We will improve a large section of Coomoora Reserve by planting extra foliage and translocating some existing species. We’re working with the City of Greater Dandenong and the DSE to establish suitable sites to yield the best results.”
