On 5 January, about 5pm, police searched a property on Rhoda Street, and seized heroin, amphetamines and other equipment.Police also found a firearm, a vehicle, a large sum of money and goods believed to be stolen.Following the search, police charged a 26-year-old man, Nhan Nguyen and the 22-year-old woman Diem Danh from Dingley with offences including trafficking, possessing and use of both heroin and amphetamine, and possessing proceeds of crime and theft. The man was also charged with being a prohibited person possessing a firearm and other related offences. The pair appeared in an out-of-sessions hearing on 5 January and remanded in custody to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 7 January.Retailers who believe they may be victims of shop theft are urged to contact their local police.Items recovered from the home include children’s clothing, DVDs, computer games, electrical appliances and alcohol. Senior Sergeant Hayden Downes said besides removing drugs from the streets, police have disrupted an organised shoplifting crew operating in the greater Springvale area.
“The members worked tirelessly on information about alleged drug activity and it was an added bonus to locate the property, which we hope to return to the rightful owners,” he said.
