IN The Garden is the latest exhibition at Heritage Hill.
The exhibition of Benga House shows the joyous works of artist Jo Reitze in well lit rooms overlooking the beautiful gardens of Heritage Hill.
Her work, which includes garden paintings and flower studies in gouache and oils and some garden drawings in black and white, celebrate the beauty of nature. Her paintings represent the fusion of all the senses.
Ms Reitze has a long connection to the Dandenong area, including being a former lecturer of Chisholm Institute of TAFE and a member of the public Arts Committee for the City of Greater Dandenong.
“In 2002, I was thrilled to receive The Dandenong Club Award for the best work painted on the day at Heritage Hill gardens,” she said.
“I was also a long-time supporter of the Dandenong Festival of music and Art for Youth, so it gives me great pleasure to exhibit my work in an area which holds such beautiful memories for me.”
In The Garden will be held at Heritage Hill Museum and Historic Gardens, 66 McCrae Street, Dandenong from 19 September to 19 October.
The official opening is on Sunday at 2.30pm.
A gouache workshop with Ms Reitze will be held on 5 October.
The exhibition is open Wednesday to Friday from 10am until 4pm and Sunday from noon until 4pm.
