Breast is best

By Bridget Cook
A NEW support group for breastfeeding mothers will be launched in Dandenong next week.
The Dandenong Group of the Australian Breastfeeding Association will host its first meeting on Tuesday 9 November at the Breastfeeding Centre in Robinson Street.
The Breastfeeding Centre has been helping new mothers for nearly two years, and this new group will provide an opportunity for mums to socialise and support one another in their parenting journey.
Group Administrator Emma Hamilton said meetings were a relaxed and informal way to learn more about breastfeeding and other important aspects of skilled and loving parenting.
“New mums, pregnant mums, and mothers of weaned babies are all welcome at the Breastfeeding Centre,” Ms Hamilton said. Mums with breastfeeding concerns are welcome to go along and talk to trained breastfeeding counsellors at the meetings.
Meetings will be held at the Breastfeeding Centre, 3/71 Robinson Street Dandenong, on Tuesdays 9 and 23 November, and 14 December. For further information about the meetings call Ms Hamilton on 8774 7896. The Breastfeeding Centre can be contacted by calling 9791 4644 and 24-hour breastfeeding assistance can also be obtained on the Breastfeeding Helpline 1800 686 2 686.
