Cricket’s back

A FINE forecast will come as a relief to Dandenong District Cricket Association (DDCA) administrators this weekend, with players expected to make a long-awaited return to the field after month-long holiday.
Consecutive wash-outs on 15 and 22 December forced the league to reschedule the two-day round-six fixtures as one-dayers to be played Sunday, 20 January.
After a rain-extended hiatus, the players can expect to be a little rusty during this Saturday’s round-seven match-ups.
The highlights of this weekend’s play look to be top-six clashes between Springvale South and St Mary’s, Berwick and Narre Warren and North Dandenong and Buckley Ridges.
