Get your Lions’ share

YOU can have the cake and eat it too this Christmas – all in the name of charity.
The Lions Club of Dandenong is once again running its Christmas Cake Program. Its “Christmas Cake chairman” Allan Pinder said Christmas was a time of year all residents should take to consider those less fortunate.
“These are the needy, the aged, the young, the disabled of our community, and the disadvantaged,” he said.
Profits raised by cake sales would go towards Lions Club projects that service the community, Mr Pinder said.
“These funds also assist in financing such projects as medical research, programs for the aged and infirm, youth programs, including drug awareness, save sight and on hearing dogs for the deaf.”
Local charities, including Cornerstone, also stand to benefit through donations the Lions Club makes from the proceeds.
The Lions’ cakes are recognised as delicious, high-quality, Australian-made products manufactured using all-Australian ingredients.
The cakes come in two sizes – 1.5kg, and 1kg – and sell for $12 and $9 respectively.
“At the time of goodwill to all, why not support this worthy project?” Mr Pinder asked.
