IT WAS even harder for Dandenong train users to go to work on a Monday morning after a train and a truck collided in Noble Park sending peak-hour services into disarray.
Police said an empty truck travelling along Chandler Road in Noble Park stopped at a red light near the level crossing at 5.57am.
The truck driver believed he was clear of the track, but police said the Dandenong-bound train clipped the back of the truck.
No one was injured in the incident but Connex said the collision disrupted services for several thousand peak hour commuters.
A spokeswoman said the train was damaged in the incident and was removed from service.
Commuters on the Pakenham and Cranbourne lines bore the brunt of the inconvenience, with Connex arranging for buses to take passengers from Dandenong to Westall station.
However, the spokeswoman said when train services resumed at 7.20am, a backlog had a flow-on effect, causing services to run late.
