Safety in numbers

IT WAS ALL about fun, friends and safety at Dandenong West Primary School last month.
The school enjoyed five straight days of activities and entertainment in April as part of its Fun, Friends and Safety Week.
Teacher Michelle Wallis coordinated the week-long function which included a circus performance, novelty relay races and school performances.
Many of the activities incorporated the broader school community to include parents, teachers and school staff as well as students.
Other activities involved the creation of individual time capsules, studying the school’s motto and pledge, investigating safety issues and creating a ‘friendship tree’ – a place where students without friends can meet new ones.
