THE Dandenong Rangers returned to their winning ways at Dandenong Basketball Stadium on Saturday night, downing the Sandringham Sabres by 15 points.
The Rangers imposed themselves in the grand final rematch, as Brent Hobba and Ash Cannan caused chaos for the Sabres’ defensive line.
Sandringham had been buoyed by the sudden inclusion of National Basketball League South Dragons’ star Joe Ingles to the starting five, but not even Ingles’ presence could get the Sabres across the line.
Hobba netted 28 points and snared eight rebounds to secure the Most Valuable Player award, while Cannan sank 19 points and grabbed 12 boards.
The statistic of the night was the turnover count – 35 to Dandenong and only 18 to Sandringham.
The Rangers travel to Waverley this Saturday night.
