It’s kids’ play at new market

By Lia Bichel
THE first market dedicated to babies and children will hit the City of Greater Dandenong next month.
The Bumble Bee Baby and Children’s Market is a one-stop-shop for parents and parents-to-be and will feature a range of new, used and hand-made items at low prices.
Leanne Dudley said she and husband Adam came up with the idea at the end of 2009 and already have a number of markets planned for Dandenong, Keysborough and Moorabbin.
Ms Dudley said she had to travel to similar markets in Camberwell and Berwick to shop for her daughter, Yasmin, and thought it would be useful if people didn’t have to travel so far to buy children’s items.
“People had to travel out of the Dandenong area to go to a babies and kids’ market and many people can’t get transport so I thought holding one in the area would be a great idea,” she said.
“We have had a good reaction to the market already. We have had a lot of bookings for stalls but it would be great to get more.”
For a $2 entry fee, people can view the stalls, which will feature products including toys, clothing, books, prams, car seats, cots and more.
The first market at Keysborough will be held at Bloomfield Community Centre, Bloomfield Road, on 7 February from 9am until 1pm.
The first market at Dandenong will be held at Menzies Hall, Menzies Avenue, Dandenong North, on 14 March from 9am until 1pm.
To hold a stall at the Bumble Bee Baby and Children’s market contact Leanne or Adam Dudley on 0410 043 549.
