DANDENONG North’s Marinko Matosevic fought hard against Switzerland’s Marco Chiudinelli in the first round of the Australian Open but the Alpine player proved too strong for the 180th ranked Aussie and took the game in four sets on Tuesday night.
In his first Australian Open appearance the Croatian-born Matosevic lost the first round match to the 58th ranked Chiudinelli 6-7 6-7 6-4 3-6.
