DANDENONG manufacturer JDN Monocrane was honoured on Monday when they were named a nominee of the 2010 Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame.
The Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame acknowledges the ground-breaking achievements of Victoria’s world-class manufacturing sector.
Industry and Trade Minister Jacinta Allan visited the factory to announce South East Melbourne Manufacturers Alliance (SEMMA) nominated the company for its innovation, use of new technology and outstanding efforts to secure exports.
“Greater Dandenong is a significant manufacturing hub in the south-east region and if JDN Monocrane is successful then it would be the twelfth company from Greater Dandenong to be inducted,” she said.
“Today is an exciting day for us,” JDN Monocrane Managing Director Colin Smith said.
“It’s been a long road, but we are very proud. We have a loyal group of people. The dynamics of the company have been fantastic.”
SEMMA executive officer Paul Dowling said he was proud of JDN Monocrane’s achievements, and said all industries in the City of Greater Dandenong worked well together.
“Companies still work off each other,” he said.
“That’s the strength of this region.”
