Colts join fillies in

IT won’t just be about the horses at the Sandown Classic this Saturday, with the most fashionable fillies in the region set to take to the stage for Fashions on the Field.
In recent years, the Fashions on the Field competition has become a major feature of the biggest race day of the year at Betfair Park, Sandown – and this year is no exception.
And the men have not been forgotten, being eligible to enter in all three categories.
The three categories are kids four to 12-years-old, 13 to 17-years-old and 18 years and over.
This year the judges will be specifically looking for tasteful use of colour in the winner’s outfit in support of the charity partner of the day, Zaidee’s Rainbow Foundation.
A panel of fashion, media and celebrity identities will judge the competition.
Entrants will be in the running to win prizes, including a holiday to Hayman Island, shopping vouchers and Rokk Ebony Hair vouchers. All contestants will receive a gift bag for entering.
To register, and to ensure your place in one of the heats, complete the online registration form at www.melbourneracingclub.net.au/sandownclassic.
Registration will be open on race day between 11am and 12.30pm at the registration desk located inside the main gate at Betfair Park, near the race day office.
Heats begin from 1pm on the Sandown Classic Fashions on the Field stage located on the front lawn to the left of the mounting yard.
