TWO DANDENONG learner drivers could face court after being pulled over – in the one car – in Malvern East.
Police intercepted a vehicle when it pulled off an exit ramp after going over a painted traffic island to rejoin the Monash Freeway at Malvern East at 8.40am on Monday.
Police said the officers soon worked out the 18-year-old Dandenong North man only held a learner’s permit, as did the front seat passenger, a 20-year-old Dandenong woman.
The male driver is expected to be charged on summons for using a mobile phone while driving, being an unaccompanied learner driver and careless driving.
His passenger is expected to also be charged.
