ANOTHER reality check was doled out on the Keysborough Cougars women’s program with Western Port too strong on Saturday night in the Steelers’ 92-42 win.
The youthful Cougars couldn’t match up physically against the experience Steelers, but Keysborough failed to give up, pushing Western Port to the final buzzer.
Under new coach and former Big V Cougar Robert Ostojic, the Cougars won the third quarter 19-18 to take some positives out of the 43-point loss.

A top-of-the-table clash in Division 2 men’s basketball was a tantalising prospect on Sunday afternoon as Keysborough faced Pakenham at Cardinia Life with the Cougars taking a 93-84 win over Pakenham.
Kevin Benn (23 points, six rebounds) led the scorers with Eric Miraflores (17 points) and Adam Sliwinski (16 points) impacting the scoresheet significantly.
