Husband pleads guilty to manslaughter

FORMER Dandenong volunteer Mandy Ahmadi’s husband last week pleaded guilty to killing her.
Mrs Ahmadi, also known as Zahara Rahimzadegan, disappeared on 16 December in 2011.
Nasir Ahmadi was charged with her murder in January last year after her remains were found buried under decking in their Ashwood backyard. He pleaded not guilty.
But on 3 May he told the Supreme Court he was guilty of manslaughter, after the Office of Public Prosecutions withdrew the murder charge.
He was remanded to face a plea-in-mitigation hearing on 30 May.
Mrs Ahmadi donated time to the community up to seven days a week with Catch the Fire Ministries, Cornerstone in Dandenong, and her own organisation, Women’s Better World Incorporated.
Catch the Fire Ministries Pastor and close friend Daniel Nalliah told the Star that the mother of two’s death would leave a big hole in the community.
“She was a very loving, caring, passionate and very excitable personality who genuinely loved the world,” he said.
