A DANDENONG building has won an international design award.
Wallara’s Potter Street centre took home the award for International Salutogenic Design at the annual International Academy for Design and Health awards which were held in Brisbane in July.
The academy is dedicated to research around design, health, science and culture interacting.
The awards recognise excellence in the research and practice of designing healthy environments.
Salutogenic environments support health, wellbeing and quality of life.
Allen Kong Architects designed the Potter Street building, commissioned by Wallara and Wintringham.
Allen Kong, Phill Goulding from Wintringham and Phil Igoe from Wallara accepted the award.
“Congratulations to Allen Kong Architects for a practical and innovative design that has been internationally recognised as a leading salutogenic design,” Mr Igoe said.
Potter Street was also a finalist in the sustainability category and design for mental health.
