Schoolgirl infatuation bail revoked

By CAMERON LUCADOU-WELLS

A MAN “infatuated” with a female school student shrugged his shoulders and raised his hands as if in disbelief after having his bail revoked for allegedly breaching orders not to contact the girl.
Police prosecutor Anthony Ciardullo told Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on Monday that Ramin Mohseni had continually breached bail conditions and intervention orders imposed on 13 August.
“The victim and her family have had to change how they live, including the victim changing her hair colour several times and the times she goes to school out of fear of Mohseni.”
A police informant told the court that he had “very real concerns that the offending will continue”.
“Even with time in police custody, he’s just infatuated with this young girl”.
Mohseni had been on bail while awaiting sentencing for guilty pleas to his original charges.
Sentencing had been deferred until 13 December pending a forensic mental health report on the accused.
He was also facing charges of stalking and persistent breaching of an intervention orders arising from his alleged breaches in October.
During that month, he’d visited the victim’s home, been spotted driving towards the home and being present while an associate rang the victim.
His defence lawyer said Mohseni had been making “good progress” being treated by a counsellor twice a week for six weeks since being out on bail.
He said there had been “no specific violence involved” though his client was “obsessional about this young girl”.
Magistrate Pauline Spencer questioned how Mohseni could be monitored if he breached an intervention order, bail conditions and was under treatment.
“You’re an unacceptable risk of reoffending and contacting the victim.
“I’m not confident that you’re able to meet bail conditions.
“There has been no physical violence but there are other types of violence like psychological and emotional violence that are just as serious.
“You have caused the family to be very fearful and very concerned.”
