Christmas gift volunteers play Santa

St Mary’s Dandenong Conference volunteers are giving Santa a helping hand to ensure that underpriviledged children throughout the region have a present to open on Christmas morning.
Twenty volunteers have been busy collecting toys, which will be distributed in the lead up to Christmas.
Conference president Veronica Gislingham said toys for children 10 years and over were in particular demand.
“The recent toy drive will make many relieved parents happy that their children will indeed have a great Christmas thanks to the kind donations,” Ms Gislingham said.
“Christmas is a time for families to come and share a meal together and for the children to play.
“Thanks to the toy drive, families have that little extra hand up to have this.”
Volunteers also collect toys at surrounding parishes including St Gerard’s North Dandenong, Holy Family Doveton, St Joseph’s Springvale, St Anthony’s Noble Park, St Peter’s, Clayton, St Andrew’s Clayton South, St Paul the Apostle Endeavour Hills and St John Viannys.
