BUSINESSES in Melbourne’s south east this week raised just over $45,000 for the region’s most vulnerable.
City of Greater Dandenong-Industry held the fifth Take a Swing for Charity at Sandhurst Golf Club in Skye on 24 February.
The day included an ambrose golf event, a dinner and auction, and funds raised will help Hanover Welfare Services provide a playground and laundry facilities, a dental brokerage fund for children, and childcare for mums returning to work.
The service for the homeless will celebrate its 50th birthday this year and runs Bob’s Place in Dandenong, which helps more than 1000 people each year.
South East Business Networks (SEBN) manager Sandra George said the final fundraising tally was still to be calculated, but was more than $40,000.
Take a Swing for Charity has now raised more than $200,000 for local charities and services since its inception.
