TOUR guide training for refugees and asylum seekers is part of a new $100,000 project for Greater Dandenong.
Multicultural Affairs Minister Robin Scott last Friday visited Dandenong Civic Square to announce the State Government cash for “social cohesion initiatives”.
City of Greater Dandenong and local organisations will deliver multi-faith and multicultural education programs in schools, a training program for asylum seekers and refugees to volunteer as tour guides, a cooking program and a multicultural business forum.
Mr Scott said the funding was part of a $500,000 Victoria-wide social cohesion package and aimed to build new connections between Victorians of different backgrounds and increase respect and resilience.
