A GRASS fire in Dandenong North is now under control, according to the CFA.
The grass and scrub fire is on the up slope of the Police Road exit ramp.
The fire, which is surrounded by bitumen, is under control after starting this afternoon.
The CFA has said there is no threat to any assets or any chance of it spreading further.
However, the numerous fire trucks in the area may cause disruptions.
Police have reduced lanes on EastLink for the safety of emergency service crews.
Smoke may be visible from nearby communities and roads.
Appliances are expected to be on scene for some time blacking out.
