Man punched, robbed at midnight

FIVE people have punched and robbed a Springvale man while he walked home.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault and robbery on Springvale Road, Springvale, near the corner of Watt Street, about midnight on Saturday 9 April.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Senior Constable Nic Hayes said the victim was listening to music on his phone using headphones when the group approached and demanded the mobile and his wallet.
They punched him in the mouth, took the phone and fled in a southerly direction.
Det Sen Const Hayes said it was dark so the victim was unable to provide a description of his attackers.
He urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
