A thief grabbed a woman’s purse from under her arm as she walked along View Road in Springvale.
The 21-year-old from Dingley Village was on the footpath about 7am on Friday 23 September when the incident occurred.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Senior Constable Bree Jarvis said the victim was carrying her purse under her right arm.
Someone approached her from behind and pushed her before stealing the purse and running from the scene, travelling south on View Road.
“We have a limited description because she only saw him run away, not his face,” Det Sen Const Jarvis said.
The victim told police that the thief was 170 centimetres tall and was wearing dark pants and black hooded jacket.
