WALKER Street Gallery is hosting a new exhibition by acclaimed artist Deborah Kelly.
No Human Being is Illegal (In All Our Glory) will visit Dandenong as part of a regional tour to galleries and cultural centres across the country.
The exhibition was originally created for the 19th Biennale of Sydney in 2014 and features 20 life-sized photographic portraits.
Workshop participants over time added layers of archival and contemporary imagery specific to the subjects’ interests, attributes and vision.
Each collage tells a story of the subject’s life and together represent a cross-section of contemporary Australia.
For more than three decades Ms Kelly has created work that was often politically-motivated, covering social, racial, sexual and religious prejudices.
No Human Being is Illegal will on display at Walker Street Gallery and Arts Centre, corner Walker and Robinson streets, Dandenong, until Saturday 29 October.
