Axe-wielding carjackers deliberately crashed a stolen sedan into their victim’s car in Springvale.
Police are appealing for information about the incident, which occurred about 9.40pm on Monday 5 June.
The victims, a 21-year-old Rowville man and a 25-year-old Glen Waverley woman, were in a black Holden Commodore VF with registration ABI 332 travelling on Springvale Road.
Police said a stolen red 2014 Toyota Corolla, with registration 1AT 9MT, hit the car from behind and the two vehicles pulled over into Young Street.
The victims got out of the Commodore and two men got out of the Corolla, one armed with an axe or similar weapon.
The victims handed over their keys when they were threatened and the carjackers drove off in the two cars down to Peace Street, leaving the victims stranded but uninjured.
The two cars are yet to be located.
The driver of the Toyota was described as Caucasian with a medium build, short light brown hair, and fair skin with acne scars on his face. He was wearing a black hooded jumper.
The second man was described as Caucasian, tall and thin.
He was wearing a grey hooded jumper, grey tracksuit shorts and black sneakers with an orange fluorescent pattern.
