Police are appealing for witnesses to an alleged mugging in Dandenong.
A man told police he was on foot on Walker Street, heading towards Dandenong Railway Station about 11.40pm on Wednesday 1 November.
Seven men of African appearance approached him, he said, and one punched him in the face.
The others took his wallet, cash and cigarettes.
Police appealed for anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
