Urban landscapes inspired the latest Walker Street Gallery exhibition.
Seaford-based artist Hans Schiebold focused on neighbourhood objects and landscapes that were often overlooked in his Out and About exhibition.
The former ship captain migrated to Australia from Germany more than 30 years ago.
He said the featured paintings presented the way he would like people to see the places they lived.
“Once we cast our eyes away from obvious we observe our surroundings and notice its inner beauty,” Mr Schiebold said.
“My vision of life in the suburbs of Melbourne under the canopies of trees and the ever-brilliant blue sky are preserved in these works.”
Out and About opens at Walker Street Gallery, corner Walker and Robinson streets, Dandenong, on Thursday 5 April and runs until Saturday 28 April.
The gallery is open Tuesday to Friday, 11am to 5pm and Saturday, 11am to 3pm.
