Man charged with serial burglaries

A Springvale man has been charged with four home burglaries in Springvale South this year.

The 34-year-old was accused of stealing jewellery during break-ins at Dangerfield Drive on 15 February and Corio Road on 24 July.

He also allegedly stole car keys and a Mazda CX-3 from a Clarke Road home on 22 July. The car has since been recovered, police say.

The man was also charged with stealing several iPads and jewellery at Montclair Close on 2 August.

Police arrested him with a small bag of the stolen jewellery at the corner of Walker and Thomas streets, Dandenong on 7 August.

He was charged with four burglaries, three thefts, car theft, criminal damage and dealing with the suspected proceeds of crime.

He was remanded to appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on 11 August.
